Bio - Hey I’m Andy Umphress and I’m a sophomore here at JMU.  I was born in Ohio but moved to Philadelphia 9 years ago where I’ve been living ever since.  I’m currently a International Relations major.  In the future I plan to enter some sort of political position and work for our government.  I decided to come to JMU because of the warm weather and excellent academic schools.  I live at probably the most exciting apartment complex offered here at JMU, known as the mill apartments.  It’s a very promising apartment complex due to its immense social life.  I am a diehard Philadelphia sports fan including all genres of sports throughout Philadelphia.  Overall I am a fan of all sports whether watching them on TV or playing them.  I love listening to all genres of music, whether it’s from rap to even country.  When I’m not doing school work or listening to music I love to just relax and hang out with friends.  This year I started working with Big Brothers Big Sisters and currently I have a little brother who attends 6th grade at Wilber Pence Middle School.  It is an experience that I always look forward to every week.  Other than Big Brothers Big Sisters I am always involved in some sort of intramural sport here at JMU.  I was much excited to be nominated pledge class president because I have incredible faith in my pledge class brothers and myself to bring big things to the Kappa Alpha Order.

Bio: I am a 20 year old junior who is a quantitative finance major.  My birthday is March 2 and my last name is Dutch that translates out to the “wine garden”.  Oddly enough I’m not really even Dutch but am really mostly Irish.  I am a huge sports fan of the Yankees, Cowboys and Terrapins.  My favorite TV shows are Lost, 24 and the office so naturally I’m pretty upset about this writers strike that’s going on.  My favorite movies are Gladiator and Superbad.  All my family comes from New Jersey right outside of Belmar.  I have four brothers in my family just as my father did in his family.  I enjoy old man games like bocce ball, horseshoes and darts.  I personally can not stand the cold and would much rather being hot anytime I have the choice.  Speaking of hot things I’m all about hot sauce on anything I eat even though I just end up getting some ridiculous heartburn, but in the end it’s totally worth it.  I live in 1342 C Hunters Ridge this year but you’ll see me in the Fox Hills next year.  I enjoy JMU so much that I’m taking on two more majors so I can enjoy it for a fifth year.  My favorite music is rap music but I’ll listen to anything really as long as there isn’t like screaming in it, my hearing seems to be awful already as it is, I don’t need Emo kids doing any more damage to them then is necessary.

Brief Bio: Hey, my name is Eric I am a freshmen from North Jersey who loves football and sports in general. I also played baseball and ran track in high school. My major is finance, and I decided to come to James Madison because it has a strong business school. After college I hope to go to law school, and eventually be a corporate lawyer. I am a fun guy who likes to work hard and play hard. This semester I am very excited to be pledging, and I am eager to learn a lot and create strong friendships. My hobbies are collecting nutcrackers, which I have over 60. I also enjoy having a good time with my friends, and working out. My favorite sports teams are the New York Mets, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I extremely dislike the Yankees, and the Patriots. My favorite foods are steak, chicken parmigiana, and lobster. My least favorite foods are sushi, and anything with mustard. My goal is to one day be a successful man who will enjoy everything life has to offer. Bio: I have 2 sisters and one brother along with another kid my parents are the legal guarding of whom I also consider as a brother. I appreciate my family very much and enjoy spending time with them. My dad is my role model, and his loving and outgoing personality are traits that I greatly admire. He is one of the main reasons I am pledging KA. He made me realized being a part of something that is bigger than me with people who share the same interests and goals is an experience that will last a lifetime. Other than family, I also love all sports, especially basketball. I enjoy playing for organized teams, yet there is nothing better than a good old pick up game of backyard football or basketball. I simply enjoy being outside relaxing and spending time with some friends. Besides just playing sports I also enjoy watching them, especially college basketball, and UNC is my team. Aside from sports, I also like to just stay healthy by going to the gym. I also enjoy listening to music, mostly rap. I believe music is very inspiring and I enjoy good lyrical artists. My future goals and dreams include working in the field of sports medicine while sharing my life and joy with a rather large family. Overall, I just like to have fun and enjoy life. To sum it up I am a laid back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy who is down for mostly anything.

Bio:My name is Sadeq Khan, I am a freshman at JMU and my hometown is Eldersburg, MD (right outside of Baltimore). I’ve lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland so I can relate to many different areas. I spent most of my middle and high school years in Pittsburgh, PA so I am a huge Steeler fan. I love attending sporting events, especially football games. I am also a big basketball fan, and love the New Jersey Nets. I love music. Music is one of the biggest things in my life. I listen to all kinds of artists ranging from rock to rap. Some of my favorites include Dave Matthews, Blink 182, Incubus, O.A.R, Akon, Tupac, Taking Back Sunday, The Fray, Ludacris, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Lil’ Wayne. I am not the biggest fan of movies but I defiantly have a few all time favorites. A couple of these would be The Departed, Blow, Fast and the Furious, and Finding Nemo. I also like South Park, The Real World, UFC, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, and Sports Center. Another thing I love is the T.V. show Entourage. Jeremy Piven is definitely one of my favorite actors, along with Denzel Washington, Adam Sandler, and Kevin James. There is one actress I could watch all day, Jessica Alba. I also love candy, all different kinds. I love snickers, twix, take 5, dove, m&m’s, cadbury, kit kats, reese’s, and tons of others. I’m not a huge gamer, but I do love Madden and Fifa. I’m big into electronics and always try to get the newest technology. My major right now is Marketing and Pre-Law, and I am trying to get into the College of Business by the end of next year. I plan to attend law-school, and hopefully one day own my own business.

Bio: My name is Zane Klopp and I am a freshman here at James Madison University.  I am an Air Force brat that has lived anywhere in the country from California to Virginia.  Growing up and throughout high school I played ice hockey for several teams.  During my last two years of high school i played for the Washington Junior Capitals and the Washington Junior Nationals.  After tearing my ACL, I decided to pursue my education at James Madison.  I have two great parents and a sister who attends the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and plays soccer there.  I am aiming to become a bussiness major here at school and hoping to live and work in North Carolina for the summer.  First semester I earned a 3.38 GPA and I am hoping to improve upon that this semester.  I enjoy participating in and watching all sports and relaxing as much as possible.  I have been raised as a Christian, and feel that religion plays a key role in my life.  I hope to graduate on time in 2011 and have a degree with a degree in bussiness management.

Brief Bio: I am a junior here at James Madison, who is majoring in Kinesiology with a Pre-Med concentration.  I am a transfer student from ECU but I really like it here at JMU.  I enjoy a lot of health related things but I do not do well in some science classes for whatever particular reason.  I love most sports and I really like the Redskins and Steelers.  I have a healthy hate the Cowboys.  I use to play baseball and it was one of my favorite sports.  I like working out and trying to stay fit. Lost, South Park, and Heroes are some of my favorite television shows. Along with Sportscenter and most things on ESPN.  I don't have a lot of favorite teams but I have many favorite players such as: Randy Moss, Chris Paul, Ken Griffey Jr, Kevin Durant and Derek Rose.  I like playing poker, sometimes.  I like Polo, Clark's Wallabees, and Rogue Status.  I have a black Audi A4, which I love.  I like most kinds of music but some of my most listened to artist are SOJA, Lydia, and Lil' Wayne.  I don't like the rain or the cold.  I wish everyday was 80 degrees and sunny.  Summertime is the perfect season.  Some of my favorite places to eat are Popeyes, Outback, Mikes American Grill, and Chipotle(better than Qudoba).  I also love breakfast foods and I like cooking breakfast.  I am looking forward to summer and living in Fox Hills next year.

I am currently majoring in Finance and considering minoring in Accounting.  My likes are family and friends, the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and the shore. My dislikes are dishonest people, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Mets. I can’t wait to live off-campus next year in Hunter’s Ridge. My goals for this semester are to get a 3+ GPA, meet tons of new people, and have a great time. I look forward to pledging this semester and getting to meet everyone.
